Monday forenoon, I have been to school this morning but came home before it was out. We think of buying a present for Mr. Northam, and I think he deserves one, if ever a teacher did, for he has worked hard all winter; We have not decided what to get, but I presume it will be a book of some kind. I cant think of much news to write. I have not been able to get a school yet, and I am afraid I shall be obliged to give it up, but I shall not do so very willingly. Mother sends her love to you, and scratched out I must close now so good by my underlined dear underlined, and don't forget to write to me soon, if this poorly written, and poorer composed letter, is worth answering yours, with ever so much love.
