have been laid here & there all around, but now we are laying a pavement. Wont that be fine? I am working, for encouragement you know I like that kind of fussing. We have been saddened today by hearing of the death of our friend Mrs. Stanley, the lady at whose house we had that thanksgiving dinner. We had heard that she was ill, of malarial fever, but heard afterwards that she was getting better & as the weather has been so bad, we had not been to see her. & we did not hear
