On Friday Sennight died at his house in Exeter The Revd John Steech M. A. Archdeacon of Cornwall, Canon Residentiary of that Cathedral. [overwritten:Catheddral] He was a Sincere Christian, and consequently a good man: and thus ["thous", as written, with the 'o' blotted out] he lived in the constant exercise of all Christian Virtues, he despised an affectation S/[a correction] singularity; knowing hypocrisy only by the name. As a Dignitary of the Cathedral, his general behaviours gained him the affection and confidence of its members. He lived respected by all and his death would be the more lamented, were it not for the consolation of knowing that his lot is among the Saints.---- [5 flourishes]
