  It often troubles me to think that  I have been so long in acknowleging your kind & affectionate letter, but I may as well not try to make excuses with the exception of myself & son's unsettled situation, but now as Thomas has some over there, I shall most likely renew my correspondence. I feel much obliged to you for the full account of family news you sent me. I was much pleased to read in Thomas' letter from Utica that your Father & Mother was there, and that my sister appeared stronger than he expected
