Mr W Everett Dear Sir Yours of the 11th was rep'd in due time but mislaid till this morning and now I would say in reply that Thos Hughes gave me $6 to send for the C??? & I sent it in his name and at the same time told your ? to stop in which the did after send him our requesting his continuance of the same I did not get an receipt of the same as my name was not known in the business I think Mr. Hughes is mistaken in regard to the time he says Dec 19 1878 I think must have been one year before
