Cool night but a very pleasant morning, Had venison for breakfast

Arrived at the "Ree" village at 1/2 past 12 -

Col V- Vaughan distributed the annual present -

Left at 1/2 past 7 -

Ran on four miles to the Mandan village -

After distributing presents left at 10 O'clock in the evening -

Dwindled down, destroyed by diseases from larger nation to forty souls - Now number about 300 -
