My Dear Aunt Anna:
It seems a long, long time since we have heard from you. Very likely it is my own fault but that, you know, doesn't make it any easier to bear. We have been at home now nearly seven weeks. The first four weeks, John and Azia and Clarence spent with us. Then soon after they left, we all went down the river about thirty miles to Sailor's Encampment to spend a couple of weeks with the Johnston girls, of whom I told you, their Indian descent etc. They have a little shanty of two rooms right near the river and also a "lodge" made of hemlock and birch bark
