poem & drawing. He's still hoping B. will invite him to Union Pier.

At the old town Art Fair B. almost sold out? Interesting how shrewd the buyers were - most of the old friends & collectors of B's work. the two pieces

left -out of ? weren't worth buying.

what different characters we have, B. & I ! Just as it ruined our marriage, it continues to irritate me - he's so damned feudal in his subservience to people

with money or other assets. I could never put up with the set-up at Union Pier. At the moment he, his health, his own private garden behind the studio, are wonderful. But if something should happen to Alexis - who goes - & gives - wild pot parties - his mother's brother would lay hands on that property at once - and history would be repeated for the third - he'd be out - everything he's built would become another's possession. There's not a scrap of paper giving him a legal right to any of it - which cost not only labor but his own Social Security money - Alexis is mostly broke - too sleepy! Finish tomorrow. ...7-7-75. Many things kept me from finishing this - broken furniture needing replacements, confusion about new transfer to Social Security (still not all clear) and mostly, recently, B's sudden & serious illnesses. eyes the worst, but bad health in many ways - and just wrote urging him to come to Chi. for a more thorough diagnosis than available out there. yet leaving his beloved garden ("his" own, behind the studio, very private) would break his heart. I can't go up there right now to talk to him, some serious dental work lined up, including an abcessed [sic] tooth. so I can't concentrate on the Nancy book yet... As soon as Glenn (in Calif.) returns the Baroque publication, I'll pass it around - to Bunni, to an artist who needs a dealer etc...
