   Thanks for your recent letter and the fine press-montages.  The man pinched for the 500th time in England for drunkenness saddened me.  I am ¼ English.

I a bit on "2nd City". I never go to theatre. I did see Frank Bacon in "Lightnin" - but that was in 1921. II An interesting Review of a book by Traven - Reviewed by Jack Conroy, The Edmund Wilson of Moberly. III Obit on Joe E. Lewis - A Recoveree [sic] of Mafia Torture and mutilation.

  Did we ever get Gladys off the cigarettes?   Why underlined:  NOT ?
  Jack - were you born in '98 or '99?  Gloria Swanson Came to be in '99. 
  Today I get some Cards at the Art Institute - Then ? North to the "underlined: Mustard Seed " - and home.
