  At present the shores of the Bay, with the Town upon its three hills being covered with verdure is very picturesque.   There are a few trees, no timber, but plenty of brush-wood
 The principal Houses are well built of stone, with Venetian blinds before the windows, but the habitations of the 'darkies' 'down town' have no very particular regard to the rules of architecture.

25. The Steamer 'Jay' of 1700 Tons came in from England. This is the first of the line that has arrived. A Ball was given to the officers & passengers the following Evening. 26th. The Steamer 'Clyde' arrived.
