We have now entered upon our Grant but 2 miles above & 7 below the crossing is Surveyed by others. on the E. bank of this river are portions that are low & during heavy freshets (which rise sometimes 50 & 60 feet) overflowing & this low parts become sloughs this is not the case on one side of the river which is generally higher - Pastures pretty good
