91 passed an order, giving liberty to remove them from the Iland cautioning their order that It should bee don without charge to the country, This liberty beeing given, Major Gookin their old friend & Ruler (by the Authority & incorgement of the Right Honourable the Corporation for Gospelizing the Indians, residing in London & by Authority of the Generall Court of Massachuesets in New England) forthwith hired boats, to bring them from the Iland to Cambridge, not farre from the house of one Mr Thomas oliver (a pious man, & of a very loving compassionate sprit to these poore Indians) who when otherrs were shy, hee freely offered a place for their present setlement, upon his land which was very comodious for situation, beeing neare charls River convenient for their fishing & where was plenty of fuell, & mr oliver had a good fortification, at his house neare the place wher the wigwams stood, where (if Need were) they might retire at for their security, This delivrance from the Iland, was as a Jubily to those poore creatures, And though many of them were sick at this time of their removal especially som of the cheefe men, as waban John Tomas, &Josiah Harding; with divers other men women, & children were sicke of a bloody flux and fever, at their first coming up from the Island, but by the care of the major & his wife & mr.
