                                Military Discipline

When a war party is formed for the purpose of going to war, their intention is kept secret from the rest of the village, strike-through the rest of the sentence. After the party is organized, they leave the village secretly in the night, tho before they depart strike-through, a war budget is formed of a leather bag which contains some article that belongs to each person attached to the party; those articles represent the skin of a mink, the tail of a Buffaloo, the head of a woolf, the skin of a snake, the skin of a cat, or the whisker or beard of a Panther or woolf.

   This budget is considered sacred, and is carried by the most distinguished warrior, or the most enterprising youth; who marches strike-through in front and leads the party to battle. The advance consists of the eldest men, the rear of the youngest. The former does all the hunting, and keeps out a watch for the enemy, the latter makes fires
