Dear Mum & Grandmum:
Having a little rain for a change - mighty scarce so far. Awful hot weather no covers at night - can't even stand a sheet. Marvin doesn't feel the heat. No dress on him and no petticoats. Just shirt, band, dider and booties.
Let nurse go home last Thursday, the 12th day. Feel real well. Had Mrs. Dodge in to clean yesterday. Did the whole house except the back rooms in 4 hours. Gets 50 cents per hour. Will have her again for a time or two until I feel like doing it myself. Max did the dishes for me several days after the nurse left, so I had nothing to do but wash the diders, tend the infant, and rest myself. Walked down town yesterday for the first time. Malcolm pushed the buggy most of the way. There is a new meat market - cash and carry - just to the right of the place where I worked for Mr. Kidd - practically the same location that Mr. Turner had for his market when I was a little girl.
