Home at three after a delightful luncheon at the home of an old lady - not so old as I am - Mrs. Stewart, a friend of Mabel's whom I met at luncheon at Mabel's one hot day last summer. Mrs. Kinner, who owns the black cat named Teddy, was there also. All ladies are Episcopalians, with nice soft voices so I don't hear half what they say, but they are all lovely to me and treat me with almost reverence. I wore my girdle, and when I put my stockings on, I put on garters to hold them up until I can get the fasteners firmly anchored to the stockings,
