Avon Park, Fla. Feb. 5th 1915

Darling Tafern,

I write hurriedly, enclosing blank check for payment of the silk - coral color - for trimming G.M.'s dress and hat - a yard, I guess, and to get a sewing machine. Please go to The Fair an see the ones advertised in this clipping. Have Max go too, if he has the time, as he knows more about machines - not knocking Tafern darling - and get one of the Florence rotary for $9.88 if they are good. One ought to be able to pick up a good machine these hard times at a very small price. G.M. is willing to pay 10 or 12 dollars for one. Pay the freight and start it as soon as possible. We have lots of sewing on hand, and can't depend on our neighbors any more. Make out the check to cover all expenses. We are both well, but tired; G.M. from piling up stove wood, and I from running around nursing sick folks. Two of my patients have typhoid. Will write again soon. Lots of love, Mother.
