22 out of sight then God will take us to himself. The song we shall sing then will be "not unto us - O Lord not unto us [crossed out: O Lord] but unto thy name give the glory for thy mercy and for thy truths sake." My brethren and friends, who should be humble if the Christian is not. Pride should be forever renounced by the followers of a lowly Saviour. Every part of his conduct during his abode upon Earth is calculated to put it to shame. And we have in vain traced his progress from his cradle to his grave if we retain our unbending attitude toward one another & toward God and cherish our pride in preference to duty, though it leads us through self denial to many a Cross. I beseech of you do not let the truths which we have contemplated today be forgotten without making their impress upon your hearts. Our rest and peace depend upon the exercise of this grace. Proud spirits are restless. Pride disturbs the peace of hearts and Churches too. Learn of Christ - for he is meek & lowly in heart and ye shall find rest &c.
