Detroit July 3. 1828 Dear Sir, I shall leave here tomorrow for Green Bay, where I shall probably remain five or six weeks. After my return I shall hold a treaty with the Potawatamies for the purchase of the tract south of the St. Joseph in this Territory, and shall for that purpose be at Mr McCary's?? establishment on the 15th or 16th of September next. I am desirous you should be there, and if nothing intervenes to prevent I trust you will meet us.
