Pleasant day -- Spent in the office in Moscow -- Nothing new of any kind


Friday, 2.

Mild pleasant day with indications of a coming storm Still at Moscow. Read in room until late at night. Room in a widow's house. Thereby hangs a tail --


Saturday, 3.

Rained last night a good deal & is very muddy today. Nothing new. Another raid is expected from Van Dorn & we are warned to build block houses & be prepared.
