Monumental Fame to the Heros of the Alamo.
 It is composed of the stone from the blood-stained walls of the Alamo. The color is white. Its height from the base to the urn is ten feet six inches. The architecture is of the composite order. On four fluted columns arise surmounted by a capital on which the cenotaph rests
  From the capital to the base, two sides present an escutcheon, on which is enrolled the names of the heroes who fell at the Alamo, while on the remaining two, a death's head & cross bones
 Each square of the capital is inscribed  in raised letters with the name of one of the four leaders of the memorable conflict, viz: Travis, Bowie, Crockett & Bonham.  Oh the first side of the cenotaph is the following inscription.
 "To the god of the fearless & free, is dedicated this altar made from the ruins of the Alamo."  on the second, "Blood of heroes has stained me; Let the stones of the Alamo speak that their immolation be not forgotten."  On the
