My dear daughter

Yesterday your father sent his Bank Book to your Cousin Alexander and requested him to get a draft for 200 dollars on some Bank in New York and send to you, it is from Jennie as her wages were not paid for a great while. you said 150 or 200 if you will need the other 50 you spoke of we may be able to send that next week if you will let us know you would like to have it, I asked Lewis if he could not borrow the money he owed you, he said no father was owing him, but we can not pay him now if father does.

in margin: We all unite in sending much love to Mrs. Jones. Tell her I should dearly love to go to Wales with her. I hope she will have a pleasant voyage &c.
