good woman of no force of character & the slow are excellent servant.
I shall be sorry to lose her, but if she goes I'll put the washing out & get along with Laura alone. It will not be the first time - & there is no prospect of Company here in winter -- I have had several letters from Sister since she got back home & her boys say that her visit here has given her basis for "yarn" spinning for the balance of her life - Well she made herself a general favorite at the post - & did have a good time - We have recently had two groups of the Offs here taken - & They are remarkably good - all but myself My eyes are too light & I never take well in open air. When I get the last one I will send you a copy of both. With love & kisses to Fred & yourself Yr affec Hub Richard I Dodge
