San Francisco Sep 2 1883 Big head & late breakfast About 11 we all started for a ride to Menlo Park. -Hoods palace - Regal state - wonders of cash Houses grounds, statuary stables horses - Kindly entertained by the Hood family Other elegant places - Retd 3 pm gorged with splendor - Fine dinner missed train - Tried again - made it & got to Hotel 8 pm - all right but dazed with splendor
