I arrived at the Union Depot Yards at 8 a.m. and gave my special attention to gathering such information as would tend to show what the feelings of the strikers were towards the last [supt] as per instruction.
I talked with a member of the Strikers and all seemed friendly disposed. they say what he does is is orders from Chicago. The general feeling is that Arthur mismanaged things - and is responsible for the present position of the strike - one Engineer said. He guessed he would not wait any longer but would go on to New York and try and get on the Elevated roads. and jokingly asked if he thought he could get a pass-
