Trout has just reported that the herd all recovered - & the extra sentinels over them- He is a just a little disposed to make th emost of his work & I greatly disposed to give him full credit for all he does - but when he came after about 25 minutes absence & reported that he had followed the herd three (3) miles, I couldn't quite swallow it. He may have thought it felt three miles & would likely have been a dozen to me - but he could not have gone a mile - Still stormy & bleak
