I may be here in Northfield a fortnight, or about here all the Fall & Winter I may leave here tomorrow for good. I may be in Warwick or in Royalston for a spell or a spell & a half. and I may be at Bangor, right away pretty soon, or for the matter of that most any where else. However, for the matter of that, it would certainly do no harm for any of you to write to me here or at Warwick, I really wish you would. I do want to hear awfully. If I did not get such letters-----

By the way, how much do I owe you? I might perhaps send you part at least of it, but guess I will not just now, for I may need it myself more.
Joseph says the thing for Charles is to raise hops land fit etc. etc. People get rich by it here. What say shall Rich get richer thereby? What has Ann said to you of her plans? She began to impart them to me. I wanted to have had a long talk with you about some such matters, but found no season. Please write to me thereupon, if I do not return thither.

Northfield Street is a beautiful place indeed; and "the Meadows" the richest land in the world, they say. Broom Corn the noblest looking crop I ever saw. 10 feet high + First Frost Sept. 17th not severe. Peaches & Plums. Chas. Mattoon (Col. Mattoon's son) lawyer in Northfield, acquaintance of mine David Ball, says acquaintance of yours, lately married, likes in N. drives six horse express team N. to Fitchburg.

Well -- perhaps this will be bore enough for one letter hope I shall hear from you soon
