Sitka A.T. Feb. 3rd 1870 Dear Genl. The Constantine leaves in the morning, and I hasten to drop you a line. Everything is going on nicely and nothing since the "Sullivan unclear affair" has occurred to disturb the usual quiet of Sitka. I have written a full report of the Sullivan matter, to Genl Thomas, & acted in the matter just as you would have done, I think. Everyone is well, and all appear to be enjoying themselves; we have frequent little dinners & evening parties, and time glides smoothly in.
