very much like him. Seemed to be more a fine essay than a sermon. However he is rather a pleasant speaker. There is of course no afternoon meeting here. I looked into and got to reading the "Hills of the Shatemuc", and kept reading it till I read it through. I do not know but it was naughty, I suppose it was, But I do believe it did me good, that it was better for me than the Sermon I heard this forenoon. It is a good book, any one ought to be better for reading it. I had bought it to read in the cars or sometime. Well I cannot tell how long I shall stay here. or whether I shall go North or South from here. I expect to see Mr Mason here tomorrow, and after that may decide. Your letters to DuQuoin, whatever got there after I left I hope to get tomorrow, if I am lucky. by hands of Certain Rail Road Conductors. Well I guess I better go over to the State house. Much love Your son Isaac
