My Dear Son, Eliab got home to our good joy Tuesday Sept 2nd} his Health is better than when he went away He seems to have enjoy'd his journey. Spent a little less than 200,$ probably got his moneys worth perhaps more in health, knowledge pleasure etc. with a little sprinkling of Fatigue I should think thrown in along by way of variety. But he must write you all about that. Lucy & Sam'l are gone down river in pursuit of Health you will probably have a letter from her before you get this telling you all about her health. Sam'l late sickness etc. He was never sick a day before. We have you know (at least I have) look'd upon his prospects in regard to Health, Happiness and the Ability to obtain a large share of the "needfull,, as being very bright & promising. A good share of Happiness there is no doubt about he has it within himself. His labor & anxiety have been quite to hard this Summer. His Mill does not prove so profitable as he expected, his interest in navigation dont bring him in much. I guess, But however it will all come out right O if Lucy could only have her health. I can percieve that on the whole she walks round the house from room to room & generally by holding on to something. Dr's Rich & M.Cruen seem to think there is a tendency to Paralysis, and that it may be Constitutional but I dont really believe it
