Friday July 23 1880 Good road today water in springs, and small Tule Lakes or ponds, at short Intervals - made about 25 miles and camped on Cow Creek a small stream of about 20 feet running Easterly to Palouse. Willows? along stream + trout in the same. Saw sage hens today

Saturday July 24, 1880 Cross the creek and follow down stream about 1 1/2 miles, passing one farm house, where the road turns up the hills to the right, and continues through hilly grassy land for 10 miles, when we descend to a point on Palouse River a general camping ground - good water but no grass near. From this point campers are obliged to descend one or two hundred feet to
