His fine story about the Cora Indians with their feather in their heads, and their inventories of their goods and chattels, is all taken from his own imagination. These poor people are the most abject of any of the races of Indians I have seen, but they have got their peculiarities, the account of which may interest in the description. -- There heads are covered with patale hats or hats made of the leaves of the palm tree, the same as strikeout: all worn by all the Indians of the Country, and altho' they they do wear a sort of fringe of Leather thongs at the Knees of their breeches it is only for ornament and Capt. H. has supposed that they might be used for such purpose as he mentions, at least that the story would do very well to humbug the people at home with. --
