30 Saturday Feby 16th Quite cold again today and this very disagreeable for me--went to School in the forenoon and after dinner helped Mr H about his books - he wishes me to help him take care of them while Abraham is away which I shall most willingly do--tomorrow will be Sunday and should it be pleasant and I feel in good trim I will go to church with Mr Dalhoff the principal of the commercial College who seems to be very much of a gentleman-- Sunday Feby 17th arose at 7 oclock and after going through the usual preliminaries of preparing for Church--took breakfast, and then took a long walk.--went to the Post office--did not get a letter--What luck--in the afternoon went out to Mr Adams' and had a pleasant time singing, playing talking until tea time -- after tea came back to the city and went to the Methodist church--it was not a very interesting service and I came home in a sleepy mood and retired.-- Monday Feby 18th Pleasant day--wrote a letter to my very good friend unclear Day Esq--went to School--nothing of importance to record.-- Tuesday Feb 19th arose at 6 oclock--took breakfast--then a long walk--helped Mr Adams fix rip his Books--went to School--P.M. snow Storm--Oh dear when will it be Spring--or when will the train bring me a letter--evening--looks as though might be pleasant again tomorrow.-- Wednesday Feb 20th Warm and pleasant again--such weather I dont see but it is nearly as bad the eastern climate--warm one day and cold the next--but they it will be better soon--fixed up Mr Adams Books--took a walk--after dinner called at the music store and had a chat with the young man (Brother of the Mr Lane that died last week) who is
