Elyria, Ohio Monday, December 15, 1856

My very dear Albina:

Long ago did intend to write to you, but many things have conspired to deter me. I really cannot tell when I did write you, or whether I have written since you wrote to me. We have been quite busy of late as you may suppose. We moved into our new house the 26 November. All our furniture has arrived at last and we begin to feel quite at home and as happy as we could expect to be.
