Dear Sir,

            We have just arrived in this blotted out western world, after a journey of near five months. We came with a detachment of Cherokees, who moved rather slow. The whole nation has at length arrived in this country. Yesterday I received a letter from Mr. Butler still in the old country, continuing an extract? from one she had lately received from yourself Suffice it to say, Dear Sir, that I am determined to do all in my power to get historical information to you as soon as possible, according to your benevolent desires. By Divine permission, I intend to visit Mr. Ross next week, and endeavor to write him to the subject. He would need no excitement, were it not for scratched out a continual unclear of business. If Mr. Jones has not left this country I will endeavor to persuade him immediately
