Remsen, Sep. 8, 1895. Dear Mary,

Yours was received last evening and right glad were we to get it especially as it brought good news about little sister, we sent to the village today thinking there might be another from you. we shall be very glad to hear again and trust we shall soon. Mother proposes, if Cynthia thinks best, that she should take and use some of her own money now - that would make her feel more independent and maybe she would get well faster. What is money good for if not to use - and she may never want it more than now. She could hire some good woman to take care of her

[[vertical writing] I have a money order from John and could send Cynthia some if needed
