Monday 7 | Monday, 7. Pleasant day but it is raining to night. Rec'd papers of the 1st but no additional news. There is a rumor that a portion of Longstreets command has been captured. So [[make?]] it be! Recd a letter from Bro Davies & I answered it by enclosing him $20.00 & promised to give him the position of [unclear] Steward-- Disappointed !!! | ||
