December, Sunday, 6. 1863. Cleared off very pleasant. Am feeling finely to day. Review took place at 3 PM by Genl McArthur  Good many present. Did not pass off as well all thing considered as I could have wished  The Major became very mad at one of the officers who made a mistake  No papers. No news

Pleasant day but it is raining to night__ Rec'd papers of the 1st but no additional  news__ There is a rumor that a portion of Longstreets command has been captured__ So make it be!_ recd a letter from Bro Davies & I answered it by enclosing him $20.00 & promised to give him the positon of [unclear] Steward-- Disappointed !!!
