Thursday Nov 12th
It is again warm & Sunny -- all well but Eva.  she much better.  after breakfast my children went to say Good Bye - to some little friends -- I called to see Mrs Rawson Mrs Hunt Mrs Page Dr Rogers -- at one the Omnibus drove up to our door and my party got in -- consisting of myself five children & two Nurses.  I took one from Louisville this time named Anna Steward the other Nurse Ellen Done[[?]]en has been with me seven years.  Miss Garnet was under my protection -- she going to Chicago.  Brother Faulds intended to come up with us but he was sick.  Sister Belle Shreve gave Belle an Onyx breastpin and white scarfs.  We reached Inianapolis safe -- but I lost my purse with twenty five dollars in it.  we slept well in the Car and arrived at half past seven in Chicago
Friday Nov 13th
When we arrived Mr Badger was there in Depot to meet us -- and Mrs Garnet to get her daughter -- we had two Carriages to take our party up to our house found everything nice and ready for us.  our coloured Nancy delighted to see us and Henry too -- we found a fine breakfast -- oysters birds and sweet Bread -- also Steak -- beside all the side dishes -- our house warm with steam, and everything looking well -- I unpacked.  and after dinner went to the stores to buy some goods to send to Louisville -- to fill an order.  called to see Sister Hilton -- found her sick with cold.  Walter Hilton & Willie Heiskell here to night playing Billiards -- Belle sick  sore throat -- Ada too.  I was grieved to hear of the death of the childrens school Teacher, Mrs. Grover who died Suddenly of congestion of the lungs.  it is a great loss.  Mr Badger opened a large cask of glass ware to night bought in New York.  they are handsome -- a beautiful toilet Sett also -- Brother Sheridan sent children some pretty China Ornaments.

Nov 12 returned home

Monday Nov 9 1863.

It is very cold to day -- all of us well. at 12 Oclock Mrs Looney called to see me. received a letter from Mr Badger. He disappointed at our not returning home. I called to see Mr Hunt. Sister Virginia came for us all to come to her house -- and stay untill we returned home -- we went at two O. clock -- after dinner I went down town to do some shopping.

Teusday Nov 10th

It is again a pleasant day -- but cool -- yet not as cold as yesterday --I went visiting with my three children to day -- called on Mrs James Wilder Mrs Ed Wilder --Mrs Powell -- Mrs Andrew Lora? Mrs Feildes Mrs Tyler -- Mrs Marshall -- Mrs Eaches -- Mrs Trabue & Mrs Edmonds & Mrs Shotwell -- all of us well -- Sister Belle spent day with us.
