Again a blistering day, but [[unsure]] all of us well. Alice Hilton called to write us to a surprise party at her mother house, the anniversary of their twenty fifth wedding day. [[unsure]] gone to [[unsure]] Belle for the parties to night. Mr James Porter called, at nine o. clock Mr Badger Ada and myself went to Mr Ed [[Asham?]] party. met many people. stayed there until eleven, then went to Mr G. Mr Henderson's party. met Mr and Mrs [[Keash]] at both places, this being [[unsure]] we had pancakes for supper | |||

It is mild to day and it is snowing, we feel the heaviest fall of snow we have had this winter at eleven o, clock Ada and I went to church, there was a large attendance, after church went to see Belle, found them all well, then went and [[unsure]] if my bills when we returned home we were astonished to see White [[unsure]] on Mrs Hunt's door, Jeannie died last night after twelve O, clock, it was a shock to any one, she thirteen year old, her poor mother is a widow with only one child left (Lizzie) | |||

The sun shines brightly but it is very cold, there is a great deal of snow on the ground, after breakfast I took my sleigh and went down with my driver Thomas to visit my daughter Belle for a few minutes, found them all well, returned home. Mr [[unsure]] was so bitter cold that we came home quickly. |
