Oct 1st Edwin came home sick of Typhoid fever and never left the house again. One week later I rec'd a telegram while in Rochester summoning me at once to his bedside as he was dangerously ill. Many were from his school at Clinton Milton from Pithole and those from Syracuse were here. He was delirious most of the time after my return but never did he forget his kindness, politeness and gentle- manly [?] of character [?] in that.
