Having done this he sound out the war whoop four times, to see if he could find any friends (warriors) to come to his assistance. He then laid down the gourd & took his seat. His second,or right hand man then arose, took the gourd and went through the same ceremonies, and sat down. till the warriors who heard the war whoop immediately started for the place of rendezvous. The right hand man then directed certain men to select seven men to order the war. This being done, these seven selected a priest to go with them, and sent a messenger to notify him of the appointment. This priest or song was called the fire carried The mission over, on his return, came into this |
