Warriors wore a band of tough lesther of Buffalo skin round their heads with red feathers stuck in it. They had also the same kind of skin on the left arm from the wrist to the elbow, to prevent the bow string from hurting the arm. Name Ane tau ski lo. | |||
Anciently the feathers were glued on the arrows. Their war clubs were made of sycamore; & consisted of a large round ball, with a handle which was tied to the wrist. This is called A ta su. They had a kind of spear or dart, in later ages made of iron, which they threw at their enemies. Name of war club A ta su. |
