When I reached the boat was ordered up to Goodrich Landing again. Start up at once & reach there before noon & disembark and go into camp in a very nice place. While fixing things around Genl Desmes came & orders us to Millikens Bend & we strike tents at once. Such is a soldier experience. Boat leaving with all a board about 5 PM arrive at Millikens Bend after dark. Remain on board-call on Lt Col [[Payn?]] [[Carriay?]] Post | ||
Saturday 13 | Sunday, 14. Disembarcd this morning & the entire day is spent in getting into camp Warm and work hard. My boy Pete got drunk & I got Mad. The Marine Brigade came up & loud just before dark. | ||
