Friday, September 20, 1901 It is very cloudy, and threatens rain, the Severe Storm that was at Charleston South Carolina has travelled all along the coast with great violence, but so far has touched us here at Spring Lake New Jersey very kindly This morning at seven O. clock. the family in the Cottage next to ours. all left for their home in Pittsburgh. Their name was Loughlin, Mother & Father, two little boys, one little five year old girl, and two servants. It still looks like rain, so all our party will stay in doors. Mrs [[blank]] Donevan very ill, Mrs Shreve received a letter from little Adele [[strikeout:  Ballard]] in Chicago, all well with them but their friend, Miss Jeane Bouk. Mattie Badger also wrote a nice long letter, saying that Miss Bouk was better, and would soon return home, then Mattie and family would go to Mrs Harveys for a week. Mr Donevan is down stairs singing for Misses Ballard, to night our party are divided, some playing cards some playing the Piano, & some reading.
