Dear General, I wrote you yesterday that I would stand this morning for [[unclear]] Concho, and was all [[locked?]] up and had my wagons loaded ready to start out early this morning, when the mail came in and brought the [[unclear]] closed order publishing this destination of our companies and directing when and how the [[unclear]] should be made. A telegram also came to send to the railroad after 100 recruits for the 4th cavalry, so my order was [[counterminded?]] after dark and I have to unload my wagons this morning and unpack. Davidson [[unclear]] an order several days ago relinquishing command of the required and last night issues another reordering it. I will not now go until the whole outfit goes which will not be until the 4th cavalry [[unclear]], which will be above
