I have lately received a letter from you which acquaints me that you have converced with W. Hubbard and other gentlemen concerning the Hatts which I sent you I am very Sorry that they did not answer your expectation, was I it in my power as it is [[strikethrough: most]] agreeable to you I should pay you to the [[valley?]] of what I received for the hatts, but as I have bin building what money I had is spent that way and therefore I must do as I can, I request you to except of all of these but those made of the coarse wool, which I think you agreed to when I was at your store as to those of the coarse kind I leave it with your generosity to do the best you can with them, as to the [[strikethrough: (unclear) of the]] trimmings they are none others than the same kind of which you have ever had of me when there was no fault found with them I think it harde or me to deduct one quarter from the value of these to have them pass but necessity obliges me to leave them because I am not able to redeem them, I intend the others shall answer your expectation I did never intend the [[unclear]] should suffer by me but was deceived by my workemen as I have told you before neither do I yet mean that they shall if it is in my power consistent with reason to satisfy them.

Hubbard and other gentlemen concerning the Hatts which I sent you I am very Sorry that they did not answer your expectation, was I it in my power as it is strikethrough: most agreeable to you I should pay you to the valley? of what I received for the hatts, but as I have bin building what money I had is spent that way and therefore I must do as I can, I request you to except of all of these but those made of the coarse wool, which I think you agreed to when I was at your store as to those of the coarse kind I leave it with your generosity to do the best you can with them, as to the strikethrough: (unclear) of the trimmings they are none others than the same kind of which you have ever had of me when there was no fault found with them I think it harde or me to deduct one quarter from the value of these to have them pass but necessity obliges me to leave them because I am not able to redeem them, I intend the others shall answer your expectation I did never intend the unclear should suffer by me but was deceived by my workemen as I have told you before neither do I yet mean that they shall if it is in my power consistent with reason to satisfy them.
