We need her assistance in school, but as she has fitted herself for a music teacher she would like scholars enough to keep her busy in that department, & I think & hope she will get them. We had a letter from Lydia this morning ate at Petersham. I was very glad to learn that she was teaching there. I think, mother, we have reason to be thankful, that we have all [[unclear]] with as good success as we have. Lydia said that Myron was well and attending school. I am very glad to hear it. I want he should take up arithmatic & if he has not got a slate & arithmetic I want he should get them immediately. I shall probably go to Louisville two weeks from to day & I will then get some eastern ones & we will send it to youth meet these expenses [[etc.?]]. Lydia said that Jesse's thumb troubled him so that he was obliged to be at home. I am sorry that it is so. Give him our love & tell him to be as careful as possible with his thumb & do the best he can. David I suppose is well. We had a letter from Raymond a few days since; he said he wrote a long letter |
