Again hand pertruding from cloud, cloud left, hand to the right. Writing in Cloud:
He Came down from Heaven Know Thy Self
Hand of Meditation (Reflection, things to think upon)
Middle of the hand: You need to consider (meditate, think upon) that: -you have offended God -you do not know how often -you do not know how much -your state is miserable -you entered the world in sin -your live is short -your end is bitter -you will die / perish because:
- you cannot prolongue your live - you cannot argue with your death - Nothing with you ?? ?? which you have made -the hour of death is uncertain (because) : - you know not when you will die -you know not how you will die -you know not where you will go
-After this life regret is not fruitfull because:
- your descendants will do little for you - they will rarely write you / work for you - soon you will be forgotten unfriendly ??
Underneath the hand: Give what is yours While it is yours, After death, then it is not yours.
To the right: While you live, a friend lives ? and he will die ??just like ?? smeared over ??
Lowest underneath hand: We are dust and shadow ?? the glory of life returns to nothing what was before nothing.
Above the hand:
?? Your death, the death of Christ, on the other side of the world, the clay/glory? of heaven and the sorrow of hell need to be remembered by you,
after a bit of death , ??? the delight changes to a hill slope ??? at the end of life, thus our loved one ends.
Upper right corner: The thread spins out quickly, the time passes, ?? It ends and the slow life begins death.
Underneath / besides fingers: Life flees and death does not tardy. This moment from which depends eternity. 29th of May 1590
notes: Clearly there are connections with gnostic literature. Nosce Te Ipsum, Know Thyself clearly gives this away as a wellknown esoteric phrase for the initiated.
