It is as warm as summer here and the evenings too are beautiful -- Foliage has just commenced changing colors, a sober green, for gayer colors, & brighter; but decay will be stamped upon each and every leaf, & a few more weeks & they will disappear forever. | ||

10 o'clock Monday Eve- I did not go to Athol to-day as I expected. I have been washing though, & am so tired I hardly know what to do with myself. I intended to have written some to-day but I was so tired I laid down & rested myself instead of writing, & this eve I laid down to get Eddie to sleep & fell asleep & it is so late now I know you will excuse me so in imagination feel my arms around your neck & some good loving kisses upon your lips.
