Louisville Saturday Evening | Louisville Saturday Evening April 10th 1841 My dear Ann, I can inform you that we arrived here this morning all safe after passing a Steamboatman's fatigue of a dark rainy night. I did not retire until 3'oclock & was up again before daylight so you can very readily imagine how I passed the night - I thought myself the contrast between steamboating , and being retired with you, was very considerable. We have been playing loose and fast here at the landing all day, under pretence of leaving, by so doing we have nearly every berth taken, both in the Ladies & Gentlemen's Cabins, just before I commenced writing I gave my large family notice that the "Goddess" would not depart until morning.-This was a little shock at first but they soon got the better of it, after relishing a good supper which we gave them and all seemed quite cheerful again - We shall leave tomorrow morning Sunday about 10.o'clock without fail, and | ||
